The last seven days at Emirates Stadium

On the pitch… Arsenal conjured up a great escape in Liege, fighting back from a two-goal deficit to beat Standard 3-2 in the Champions League. And they took that momentum into the Premier League, scoring four times without reply as Wigan were brushed aside at Emirates Stadium. The Under-18s got back to winning ways against Bristol City and Arsenal Ladies Reserves also enjoyed a convincing victory, beating Millwall 9-1.

Off the pitch… Jay Emmanuel-Thomas extended his loan spell at Blackpool after a promising start to life in the Championship. One of his fellow loanees Jay Simpson isn't doing badly either - the striker scored twice to give Queen's Park Rangers a welcome victory. Arsenal legend Bob Wilson will be appearing at a book signing at the Arsenal Enfield Store on September 25 - and Gunnersaurus will be at the same place a day later.

Wenger: 'Eboue did what he had to do'

Arsène Wenger praised Emmanuel Eboue for his fine display on Saturday - just under a year since he was jeered by supporters at the end of Wigan's last visit. "He did what you have to do - shut up, play and do well," said the boss. "This is a job where you have to respond mentally.
